Morgan Surprises At Brands Gp Clio Cup Test

Alex Morgan surprises Clio Cup regulars at Brands Hatch GP after a successful Friday test session with Team Pyro on his debut outing on the GP circuit. Finishing the morning session just 2 tenths off the quickest lap by Josh Files, without the benefit of the new rubber Files had, Alex said:
I was really happy with my performance in the test session having only 40 mins to get to grips with the car in the wet on a circuit I hadn't raced on until today. I was fortunate to have some clear running which enabled me to chip away at my lap times. Unfortunately I made a few mistakes on my fastest lap which left me in P2, but I was happy that on theoretical laps I was P1 overall. The afternoon session was more frustrating, with numerous red flags coming out when Alex was on competitive laps, meaning he was unable to improve on his quickest morning lap time.
It was a lot harder to set a time in this afternoon's session due to the continuous red flags. I only had the chance to do one complete lap on my good tyres and put it in P6. The lap was a little untidy but I know I would have gone significantly faster on the next few laps if the final red flag hadn't come out. Today was only my third outing in a Clio Cup car, and having not been on a circuit in anything for 4 years, I couldn't have expected more. Today was my first taste of full wet running and it has given me a lot of confidence. Experiences like this will be invaluable when I contest the full championship next year.Infinity Sports Management are happy with the way Morgan is progressing in his return to motorsport and are encouraged by the efforts of Team Pyro to provide a competitive car.
