Morgan Makes Motorsport Return

Thu, 13 September 2012

Alex Morgan made his return to the race track today at Snetterton with Clio Cup outfit Team Pyro. Morgan has been away from the sport for almost 4 years since his last race in the Formula Renault Eurocup Championship in 2008 at Circuit de Catalunya. Alex's outing at Snetterton was his first at the track since the recent extensions were made. It was also his first day in any form of tin top race car and front wheel drive car. During the day of testing, Alex's progress was overseen by former Clio Cup Champion Phil Glew. Looking back at the day's testing, Alex commented:

I was really happy with how my first day back in a race car went. I have been away from the racing scene for 4 years and thoroughly enjoyed my day on the new Snetterton 300 circuit. I have great memories of this place as I won the first car race I competed in at this track in 2005.  The transition to a tin top race car went quite smoothly with assistance from the team and Phil. I had the benefit of having Phil in the car with me for the morning session and was then able to push the boundaries and learn for myself how the car reacts when I went out on my own. All in all I am very please with today and can't wait to see how I progress at the next test at Oulton.

Alex will be testing at Oulton Park in the next few weeks as he looks to re-establish his racing career. The test at Snetterton was an important first step and has created a good platform for him to work from.
