Alex Morgan has signed for Fortec Motorsport for the 2008 Formula Renault Eurocup Championsip. After finishing 9th in the 2007 Formula Renault UK Championship and enjoying three top 10 finishes (best result of 5th) in a few outings in the French Formula Renault Championship, Alex has been looking to move into the international racing scene on a more permanent basis. Despite this year being Fortec's first year in the Eurocup Championship, the team and Alex are looking to achieve the same success and domination the UK outfit has shown in recent years. He joins Dean Smith, Daniel McKenzie and Gabriel Dias as part of a 4 driver line-up. Alex said:
It has been my objective to compete in a championship winning car and in a championship winning team for 2008 and I am absolutely delighted to have signed for Fortec for this championship. Whilst there will be a lot of new tracks to learn our experience at Magny Cours and Barcelona in 2007 were very encouraging.Fortec team principal Richard Dutton commented
It's great to have Alex join the team for the Eurocup. I know he'll bring a great-deal of experience and talent to an already strong line-up. We started testing this week at Valencia and have already shown ourselves to be serious about succeeding in this category.Alex will be looking to join the team at the next official Eurocup test at Circuit de Catalunya where he will hope to kick start his campaign.
